Set the Right Limits

Protect income, assets, and your future—not just your car.

We don’t “win” quotes by stripping liability or uninsured motorist. We can’t predict every lawsuit, but we do our absolute best to right-size limits using your household profile, vehicles, commute, and risk tolerance.

Why it matters

Serious crashes can involve medical bills, lost wages, and attorneys. Adequate Bodily Injury and matching Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) help protect savings and future income.

How we set limits

We look at drivers, young passengers, assets, umbrella needs, and driving patterns. Then we build options that balance risk and budget.

Don’t forget UM/UIM

Florida has many underinsured drivers. UM/UIM can step in for injuries when the at-fault party can’t. We’ll recommend limits that align with your BI.

What we won’t do

We won’t sell state‑minimum liability or drop UM to look cheap. Our baseline recommendation is at least 100/300 Bodily Injury with matching UM when available—then we fine‑tune deductibles and discounts to meet your budget.

Why Coverage Matters

Price without the right coverage is expensive the day you need it.

Below are decisions that most affect Florida drivers. We’ll map each one to your household, vehicles, and budget.

Bodily Injury & UM/UIM

BI pays others when you’re at fault. UM/UIM helps you if the other driver lacks enough coverage. We aim to match UM with BI.

Comprehensive vs. Collision

Comp: theft, glass, hail, animal strikes. Collision: impact with vehicles/objects. We’ll set deductibles that fit your comfort.

PIP & Medical Payments

Florida’s PIP coordinates with your health plan; optional MedPay can fill gaps. We’ll explain how they work together.

Rental Reimbursement

Pays for a rental while your car is in the shop after a covered claim—crucial for busy families.

GAP / Loan‑Lease Payoff

If your car is totaled and worth less than you owe, this helps cover the difference. Essential for new/leased vehicles.

OEM Parts & Diminished Value

Some carriers offer OEM parts or betterment coverage. We’ll show who supports factory parts and favorable repair options.

How We Shop Carriers

Methodical, not random — we place you where the fit is strongest.

1) Driver & Eligibility

Accidents/violations, years licensed, prior insurance, and household drivers. We start where eligibility is strongest to avoid dead-end quotes.

2) Vehicle & Usage

VIN safety features, annual mileage, commute, garaging ZIP, and lien/lease status inform coverage and discounts.

3) Coverage Match

Carriers differ on UM, OEM parts, glass, rideshare endorsements, and GAP/loan‑lease. We prioritize the coverages you actually want.

4) Discounts & Programs

Bundle, telematics, EFT, pay‑in‑full, good student, defensive driver. We stack what legitimately applies—no gimmicks.

5) Clear Comparison

Side-by-side outlining limits, deductibles, and trade-offs in plain English so you can choose with confidence.

How Florida auto policies work
  • Core parts: Liability (BI/PD), UM/UIM, PIP, MedPay, Comprehensive, Collision.
  • Rating factors: driving record, garaging ZIP, mileage, prior coverage, and vehicles.
  • Umbrella: extends liability above auto/home when limits are met.
Why we ask for documents

Your current Declarations Page, driver license photos, VINs, and any teen good‑student proof ensure accurate quotes and unlock discounts. Prior claims history and lapse status affect eligibility and price—sharing details saves time.

Coverage glossary (plain English)

FAQs

Straight answers to common Florida questions.

Does my coverage extend to a rental car?

Often your liability extends to a short‑term rental, and if you carry comprehensive/collision they may transfer (deductibles apply). Fees from rental agencies and policy specifics vary by carrier—tell us your plans and we’ll confirm your options.

Should I carry Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM)?

We strongly recommend it. UM can help pay for injuries when the at‑fault driver doesn’t have enough coverage—protecting you and your passengers beyond what PIP or health insurance handles.

How do telematics/usage‑based discounts work?

Many carriers offer optional programs that track driving habits (hard braking, time of day, mileage) through an app or device. Safe drivers can earn meaningful discounts—ask us which carriers fit your comfort level.
