From diagnostic equipment to eyewear inventory, your practice has distinct business risks. Get personal guidance on property, liability, workers’ compensation, and cyber coverage.

Local, independent guidance from Premier Group Insurance of Central Florida.

Built around your exam rooms and optical business.

Your practice may combine patient care, specialized equipment, and a retail inventory in one location. A useful insurance review looks at all three, including how a disruption would affect appointments and sales.

Premier Group Insurance helps optometrists in Orange and Lake County compare business insurance options with clear explanations. We can review an established office, a new location, or a growing practice based on its actual services and operations.

Optometry practice insurance questions

Is this insurance for my practice or vision benefits for patients?

This is business insurance for optometry practice owners. It addresses exposures such as office property, equipment, liability, employees, and cyber incidents. It is not a patient vision benefits plan.

How should my eyewear inventory be insured?

Start with accurate values for frames, lenses, contacts, and other stock, including seasonal or peak levels. Identify consigned inventory separately and review valuation, deductibles, theft provisions, and covered causes of loss.

What happens if diagnostic equipment breaks down?

Ordinary property coverage and equipment breakdown coverage respond to different causes of loss. We can review breakdown endorsements and any related business income protection. Routine maintenance, wear and tear, and every type of failure are not automatically covered.

Does my optometry office need workers’ compensation?

Florida generally requires non-construction employers with four or more employees to carry workers’ compensation. Part-time employees and non-exempt corporate officers or LLC members can count. We can review your ownership and staffing before quoting. See Florida’s coverage requirements.

Is malpractice included in a business owners policy?

A standard BOP is not a substitute for optometric professional liability coverage. We review business insurance alongside the malpractice coverage you already carry, and any separate professional liability placement must be confirmed.

What information helps you quote my practice?

Your location, services, renewal or opening date, equipment and inventory values, payroll, and prior claims are useful starting points. Current policies help us compare limits and deductibles. We do not need patient charts or medical records.

Coverage descriptions are general. Availability, eligibility, exclusions, limits, deductibles, and endorsements vary by insurer and policy. A quote request does not bind or change coverage.
